When you create a new learner account in B12, an automated process is triggered to grant them access to the platform.
Welcome Email
As soon as the account is created, the learner automatically receives a B12 welcome email.
This email contains the information required to access the platform, depending on your organization’s authentication method.
Scenario 1: Organization with SSO (Single Sign-On)
If your organization uses SSO (Single Sign-On):
No additional action is required from the learner.
They can log in directly to B12 using their usual corporate credentials.
No B12-specific password needs to be created.
👉 Access is immediate upon receiving the email.
Please note that you may also choose not to send the welcome email by using the “Import” function when creating the account. See: Add one or more users directly in the B12 application (without a .csv file)
In this case, program notifications will be the first communications sent to the learner.
Scenario 2: Organization without SSO
If your organization does not use SSO:
The learner must activate their account.
From the welcome email, they will need to:
Click the activation link
Create a password
⚠️ Until this step is completed, the learner will not be able to log in to B12. Therefore, sending the welcome email is mandatory in this case.
⚠️ If the activation is not completed, program notifications will not be sent to the learner.
